Author of "Gardner's
Guide to Non-linear Editing: The Cutting Edge"
Published by GGC Publishing
Why I wrote this
book
As a college-level editing instructor since 1988, I have taught students
who were hired for post-production jobs at studios such as Universal,
Sony, Warner Bros. and Paramount, among others, as well as students and
media professionals from countries as varied as Italy and India, Poland
and South Korea, Brazil and England, Mexico and Canada. Over the years
of teaching non-linear editing as software programs changed, I came to
realize that there are certain techniques and principles the most widely
used non-linear editing programs share. In this book I present an insight
into my personal techniques. I urge you, as I do all editing students,
to understand the fundamentals of non-linear editing that apply to editing
programs so that software changes do not disrupt your editing skills.

tutorials for basic procedures such as synchronization of audio to visuals,
film-to-tape conversion, output to tape, output to film, standard definition
